Role of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) in Modern Cloud Security Architectures
Abstract
The rise of remote work and distributed cloud services has increased the demand for integrated security and network solutions. This paper explores the implementation of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) to provide a unified framework for network security and access control in cloud environments. The proposed architecture combines SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) with security functions such as secure web gateways, firewall-as-a-service, and zero-trust network access. Performance evaluations show that the SASE framework improves network performance while enhancing security posture through centralized policy enforcement. The study concludes that SASE represents a scalable and effective solution for securing modern cloud networks.
