Abstract

Quantum computing presents both opportunities and challenges in the field of cybersecurity. While quantum algorithms promise breakthroughs in cryptographic security and complex problem-solving, they also pose significant threats to existing encryption standards. This paper examines the impact of quantum computing on modern cybersecurity practices, analyzing algorithms such as Shor’s and Grover’s for their potential to break RSA and AES encryption. We also explore quantum-resistant cryptography and discuss future frameworks to safeguard sensitive digital information against quantum threats.
